Semiatin turned 97 on June 1, 2023. He is a Purple Heart recipient and Iwo Jima veteran who was present for the flag raising on Mount Suribachi on Nov. 10, 1975. Semiatin was honored with the Birthday parade, which was comprised of military, civilian and local government and state officials.
