Corporal (Cpl) Christopher Peck, a fixed wing mechanic with Marine Attack Squadron 542 (VMA-542) works his way through start-up procedures with Captain (Capt) Alex J. Ramthun, an A/V8B Harrier pilot also with VMA-542, prior to Capt Ramthun's departure from the flight line of Al Asad, Iraq on Feb. 4. VMA-542 is deployed as a part of Multi National Forces-West in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Al Anbar province of Iraq to develop Iraqi security forces, facilitate the development of official rule of law through democratic reforms, and continue the development of a market based economy centered on Iraqi reconstruction.
