Soldiers and leaders with the 4th Infantry Division and American Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces (SAF) team members gather for a meet-and-greet event at Forward Operating Site (FOS) Boleslawiec, Poland, June 7.
Teodoro Feliciano, the Director of the American Red Cross SAF, Contingency Operations – East Europe, and Deputy Director Andrew Matthews met with the SAF Site Lead for FOS Boleslawiec, Angela Malizia and 4th Infantry Division leaders to discuss the work SAF is undertaking in the region to support American Service Members, and for 4th Inf. Div. to express gratitude for their contributions.
4th Inf. Div. Soldiers praised Malizia for her hard work supporting them during their deployment and the positive impact she has on their experience.
The American Red Cross provides care, comfort, and a means of communication for Soldiers, said 4th Inf. Div.’s Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion Executive Officer, U.S. Army Maj. Mark Delapaz. They help bridge the gap between their deployment and their loved ones back home.
“Additionally [the American Red Cross] works towards building cohesion and camaraderie among the Soldiers, fostering a sense of unity and support within the division,” he continued.
The 4th Inf. Div.'s mission in Europe is to engage in multinational training and exercises across the continent, working alongside NATO allies and regional security partners to provide combat-credible forces to V Corps, America’s forward deployed corps in Europe.
