CAMP LEMONNIER, Djibouti (June 8, 2023) Marines assigned to VMM-364 (REIN) ‘Purple Foxes’ deployed to Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, unveil the painted names on five Ospreys, June 8. This gesture is to commemorate the lives of five Marines killed in a crash during a training exercise in Southern California. The VMM-364 honored and remembered the lives of Capt. John Sax of Torrance, California; Cpl. Nathan Carlson of Winnebago, Illinois; Capt. Nicholas Losapio of Rockingham, New Hampshire; Cpl. Seth Rasmuson of Johnson, Wyoming; and Lance Cpl. Evan Strickland of Valencia, New Mexico. CLDJ is an operational installation that enables U.S., allied, and partner nations forces to be where and when they are needed to ensure security in Europe, Africa, and Southwest Asia.
