BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Texas National Guardsmen roundup illegal immigrants crossing the Rio Grande River in Cameron County, April 2023. Operation Lone Star service members assist Texas Department of Public Safety officers and local law enforcement with the apprehension and capture of individuals illegally entering the US along the Texas-Mexico Border. The area near Brownsville has seen a major increase in the numbers of illegal immigrants that surrender as well as those trying to evade capture with every day closer to the possible end of Title 42.
