U.S. Army Lt. Col. David Carattini, incoming Army Forces Battalion commander, gives remarks at his change of command ceremony June 8, 2023, at Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras. A change of command ceremony is a military tradition where the outgoing commander relinquishes responsibility and authority to the incoming commander, and is symbolized by handing off the unit’s guidon. As the ARFOR commander, Carattini will oversee five units: the Headquarters Support Company, 225th Military Police Detachment, 394th Field Hospital Detachment, 436th Civil Affairs Company and 983rd Preventative Medicine Detachment.
