U.S. Navy Lt. Regan Roshetko, assigned to Joint Task Force-Red Hill (JTF-RH), briefs a representative from the Hawaii Department of Health’s (DOH) Hazard Evaluation and Emergency Response Office, and a representative from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), before beginning a spill response exercise on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, June 8, 2023. This exercise is mandated by the DOH 2022 Emergency Order and the EPA 2023 Consent Order. JTF-RH Response Directorate’s purpose is to protect the aquifer and environment by analyzing possible spill scenarios and developing appropriate mitigation measures. JTF-RH is committed to working with all local, state, and government agencies to ensure Red Hill is defueled safely, expeditiously, and in compliance with all federal, state and local laws, policies and regulations.
