Tennessee's Recruiting and Retention Battalion held a "First Formation" ceremony at the parade field in Smyrna, May 06, to welcome new Soldiers into the Tennessee Army National Guard. Each Soldier completed their basic and advanced individual training and were received by their brigade command teams as new, fully qualified, members of their unit. Brigade Commanders presented each new Soldier with their unit patch, which they put on their uniform for the first time. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Cpl. Kalina Hyche).
