Capt. David VanDam was presented with the Bronze Star with combat distinguishing device in a ceremonyat the Expeditionary Warfighting School here Feb. 2. Vandam was the company commander for Bravo Co., 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division and was decorated for his valorous leadership during combat operations in Trek Nawa, Afghanistan from June to Nov., 2010.
