U.S. Marines with Battalion Landing Team 2/1, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, conduct launch and recovery drills aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD-20) during a launch and recovery exercise, in the East China Sea, June 10, 2023. The Marines conducted the launch and recovery exercise to refine their ability to utilize combat rubber raiding craft for transit between ship and shore. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
