U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Brian Drechsler receives the Legion of Merit award citation from Col. David Banning, the commanding officer of Headquarters and Support Battalion, Marine Corps Installations Pacific, during a sergeant major relief and appointment ceremony for H&S Bn, MCIPAC, on Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan, June 9, 2023. Drechsler, the outgoing sergeant major of H&S Bn, MCIPAC, received the Legion of Merit Medal for serving as the senior enlisted leader for three years, and is relieved by Sgt. Maj. Timothy Anderson, previously the sergeant major of Recruiting Station St. Louis.
