Paratroopers assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division rehearse for an airborne jump scheduled for June 4, 2023, in La Fiere, France. Due to wind conditions, the jump did not occur. The 82nd Airborne Division has approximately 140 Paratroopers participating in 30 D-Day 79 commemoration events and activities to honor the sacrifices made by Paratroopers and Allied forces servicemembers to liberate France from Nazi tyranny during Operation Overlord in June 1944.
