230417-N-HM576-0023 MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan (April 17, 2023) Lt. Stefan Knight, VP-26 squadron maritime tactics instructor, explains the P-8A Poseidon’s weapon bay capabilities to Rear Adm. Michael Donnelly, Commander, Task Force 70 / Commander, Carrier Strike Group 5, and Cmdr. Michael Wolfe, commanding officer of VP-26, April 17. The VP-26 “Tridents” are based in Jacksonville, Florida, and are currently forward deployed to Misawa Air Base in Misawa, Japan. The squadron conducts maritime patrol and reconnaissance, as well as theater outreach operations, as part of a rotational deployment to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations.
