    230615-N-YV347-1022 PACIFIC OCEAN (June 15, 2023) U.S. Navy Aviation Structural Mechanic (Safety Equipment) 3rd Class Hector Borges, from Northridge, Calif., conducts a routine maintenance check on an F/A-18E Super Hornet from the “Kestrels” of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 137 in the hangar bay of the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68). Nimitz is in U.S. 7th fleet conducting routine operations. 7th Fleet is the U.S. Navy's largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
