A U.S. Marine with maritime raid force, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, rappels from a MV-22B Osprey during static line fast rope training aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA-6), in the Pacific Ocean, June 12, 2023. This training was conducted to reinforces the Marines’ ability to execute quicker insertion tactics. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
