    31st Marine Expeditionary Unit

U.S. Navy seamen Daniel Bojorquez, a hospital corpsman with Battalion Landing Team 2/ 1, right, and senior chief Armando Leija, a hospital corpsman assigned the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA-6), cut the cake during the 125th corpsmen birthday celebration aboard, in the Pacific Ocean, June 17, 2023. The cutting of the cake is a tradition that symbolizes the passing of wisdom and knowledge from the oldest to the youngest corpsmen aboard the USS America. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of USS America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
