Marines lift a hose from a hose reel base unit using MCMAP belts, June 16, 2022, demonstrating the number of Marines required to safely stow a water or fuel hose. Sgt. John Evans, a bulk-fuel specialist, designed a device enabling a single Marine to safely stow and unreel water and fuel hoses during field operations. Traditional reeling methods required groups of 4-5 Marines. Evans’s innovative design significantly improves safety and efficiency, meeting the demands of the field environment. The Marines are with 7th Engineer Support Battalion, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California.
