(June 21, 2023) Sailors assigned to Fleet Air Reconnaissance (VQ) 3 provide muster, symbolizing each member of TACAMO Pacific Crew Four’s respective rank, honoring the sacrifice and dedication of the 16 fallen Sailors assigned to TACAMO Crew Four June 21, 2023. The event marks 46 years since the fallen servicemembers lost their lives in a tragic EC-130 aircraft accident off the coast of Wake Island during a TACAMO Pacific Mission June 21, 1977. VQ-3 honors the 16 crew members aboard the EC-130 aircraft that died, 46 years after the incident, in a remembrance ceremony June 21, 2023. VQ-3 is attached to Commander Strategic Communications Wing (CSCW) One, a tenant command of Naval Air Forces Command, made up of three squadrons and a wing staff, providing maintenance, security, operations, administration, training, and logistic support for the E-6B Mercury aircraft fleet.
