I have a great admiration for Madame C.J. Walker, the first female black self-made millionaire. Hence, “Madame C.J. Walker” by Sonya Clark, a 10-foot portrait of Walker, made entirely of plastic hair combs, was one of my favorite pieces that I saw May 20, 2023, at the Blanton Museum of Art during my visit.
