U.S. Marines transport a training casualty from a UH-1Y Venom helicopter aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD-20) during a medical training event in the Coral Sea, June 23, 2023. The training simulated treating wounded while in air as well as quickly handing the wounded over to the ship’s medical team. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
