The DB Avalon, one of the largest clamshell dredges in North America, drops a 30 cubic yard load of dredge material onto the Sand Point barge, in the Houston Shipping Channel. The DB Avalon is one of many dredges contracted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District, to support navigation in the nation's busiest port by commercial tonnage.
