U.S. Marines with the command element, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, set up a ground network on the move in a joint light tactical vehicle aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA-6), in the Coral Sea, July 02, 2023. The NOTM-G enables satellite communications from a local area of operations to connect with multiple areas of operation across the Indo-Pacific region. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
