Dr. Erik Barahona, Hospital del Sur urologist, performs a cholecystectomy, or gallbladder removal, during a Global Health Engagement mission June 27, 2023, in Choluteca City, Honduras. JTF-Bravo personnel partnered with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Honduras, Cruz Roja Hondureña, bilingual student volunteers from the South International School – Choluteca, local officials and medical professionals to execute medical, surgical and veterinary services in multiple remote areas across the department. They provided preventative, dental and pharmaceutical care to 1,045 patients, performed 12 surgeries, and inoculated 977 cattle during the mission. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Duncan McElroy)
