U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Taylor Anderson, a transmissions systems operator with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265 (Rein.), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, sets up a light marine air defense integrated system on a utility tactical vehicle during a forward arming and refueling point exercise at Shoalwater Bay Training Area, Australia, July 5, 2023. Marines with 2d Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion established an LMADIS to detect, track, identify, and kill enemy unmanned aerial systems for the FARP as part of an expeditionary advanced base of operations. Anderson is a native of Sacramento, California. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
