U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Logan Vetter, a Short Term Individual Augmentee (STIA) Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) Technician with the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA), digs out a metal hit after an EOD sweep during a DPAA recovery operation in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, May 15, 2023. EOD sweeps are performed prior to every dig to ensure the safety of the team and to help locate possible life support evidence that may assist in the identification of a missing service member.
