DJIBOUTI, Djibouti (July 2, 2023) Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, and Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa leadership tour new walkways and structures built by the Friends of Africa organization at the Decan Wildlife Refuge, Djibouti, July 2. Friends of Africa, a non-federal entity, built the structure as a part of community outreach to support the non-profit wildlife refuge and rehabilitation center with Dr. Bertrand Lafrance, founder and president of the Decan Wildlife Refuge, to increase access for the public. CLDJ is an operational installation that enables U.S., allied, and partner nation forces to be where and when they are needed to ensure security in Europe, Africa, and Southwest Asia. The base enables maritime and combat operations in the Horn of Africa while fostering positive U.S.-Africa relations. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Rion Codrington)
