The Marine Corps Mounted Color Guard, based at Marine Corps Base Barstow, prepares for the 1st Marine Logistics Group change of command on Camp Pendleton, California, July 12, 2023. During the ceremony, Brig. Gen. Phillip N. Frietze relinquished command of the 1st MLG to Brig. Gen. Andrew M. Niebel. More than 8,000 Marines and Sailors serve numerous occupational specialties within the 1st MLG, encompassing the six functions of logistics: supply, maintenance, transportation, general engineering, health services, and services.
