Darin Via, Acting Surgeon General of the Navy, left, presents a coin to a civilian team member during a Town Hall at Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command San Diego July 13. During his three-day trip to the San Diego area, Via met with fleet and medical leaders, toured operational platforms and health clinics, and hosted town halls at NMRTC San Diego as part of an extensive tour of the hospital compound. NMRTC San Diego's mission is to prepare service members to deploy in support of operational forces, deliver high quality healthcare services and shape the future of military medicine through education, training and research.
