Franz, commanding officer of the Los Angeles-class fast-attack submarine USS Jefferson City (SSN 759), addresses participants during a family day cruise aboard the ship, July 9. The cruise provided guests with a unique opportunity to observe routine operations of a Los Angeles-class fast-attack submarine. Jefferson City is capable of supporting various missions, including anti-submarine warfare, anti-ship warfare, strike warfare and intelligence, surveillance reconnaissance.
