The U.S. flag is presented to Sandra Sharpe following the funeral service for Sharpe's grandfather, U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Harry Pickett, in Section 52 of Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va., July 19, 2023.
A WWI and WWII veteran, Pickett was the commanding officer at the Marine Barracks Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attack on Dec. 7, 1941. He served for 31 years and was awarded the Legion of Merit.
