U.S. Marines with the with the Maritime Special Purpose Force, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) (MEU(SOC)), conduct low-light ‘hook and climbs’ aboard the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5), Atlantic Ocean, Jul. 17, 2023. Marines conducted ‘hook and climbs’ to sharpen their individual and collective skills of boarding ships during visit, board, search and seizure continuum training. The 26th MEU(SOC), embarked with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group, is on a scheduled deployment as the Nation’s Immediate Response Force to the Sixth and Fifth fleets areas of responsibility.
