To kick off Exercise Talisman Sabre 2023, 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment “Gimlets”. 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat team, 25th Infantry Division, conducted a Rehearsal of Concept Drill with Soldiers from the Australian Defense Force, German Armed Forces and Indonesian Army in preparation for their Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center rotation at Townsville Field Training Area, Australia, July 21, 2023. For the first time, the 1st Australian Division will create a combined division headquarters with the 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team and include units from the German Armed Forces and the Indonesian Army. This is a tangible demonstration of our close and trusting relationship with our allies. Talisman Sabre is the largest bilateral military exercise between Australia and the United States advancing a free and open Indo-Pacific by strengthening relationships and interoperability among key Allies and enhancing our collective capabilities to respond to a wide array of potential security concerns.
