On July 18, 2023, a Texas National Guard Joint Counterdrug Task Force Drug Demand Reduction Outreach (DDRO) team spoke to the Lewisville Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association (LCPAAA) monthly meeting of hosted by the Lewisville Police Department in Lewisville, Texas. The DDRO member provided updated statistics and resources during the presentation on the dangers of fentanyl, counterfeit pills, and initiatives to combat the overdose epidemic in Texas communities across the state. DDRO informed the group on the resources available to first responders, the school district, parents and students, and answered questions the group had about Fentanyl, counterfeit pills, and the overdose epidemic. DDRO will continue to partner with the community of Lewisville to be proactive in education and prevention efforts for the residents and the community.
