Two stuffed children’s toys “stand guard” of Toys for Tots boxes during a toy drive at the USS Midway in San Diego, Dec. 1. The Toys for Tots Foundation was originally founded in 1947 by Maj. Bill Hendricks and his wife in Los Angeles to donate toys to children of low-income families.
