Jessie Higa, volunteer historian and president of the Hickam History Club, directs volunteers Dec. 2, 2012, at the National Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl in Honolulu before they placed 92 flags and leis at each of the gravesites of the Hickam Field Army Air Forces airmen who were killed during the Dec. 7, 1941 attacks on Oahu. Higa and a team of teenagers from a local school started placing flags last year as a community service project.
