    26th Marine Expeditionary Unit     

    Cargo is transferred from the Lewis and Clark-class dry cargo ship USNS Medgar Evers (T-AKE-13) to the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5), during a replenishment at sea, Mediterranean Sea, July 28, 2023. In order to carry out any mission effectively, fleet units must be capable of remaining at sea for prolonged periods time and remain fully ready to carry out any assigned tasks. The 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable), embarked with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group, continues to remain ready, relevant and capable across the Marine Air-Ground Task Force while on a scheduled deployment as the Immediate Response Force and Tri-Geographic Combatant Command Immediate Response Force within the Fifth and Sixth Fleet’s area of responsibility.
