(July 28, 2023) – Sailors assigned to Trident Refit Facility Bangor, Navy Medicine Readiness Training Command Bremerton, Strategic Weapons Facility Pacific, Naval Base Kitsap and members of Pacific Northwest Tribes haul a tribal canoe ashore during the annual Tribal Canoe Journey at the House of Awakened Culture in Suquamish, Washington, July 28, 2023. The Tribal Canoe Journey is a celebrated event of the Indigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwest Coast who travel from tribe to tribe by canoe, sharing songs and dances along the way, to end up at a final tribal destination for a week of sharing food, songs, dances and giveaways.
