Takahiro Yoshida, left, former commanding officer of Japan Self-Defense Forces Base Djibouti, on base, July 25. Yoshida visited to introduce his successor, JSDF Col Kasuke Suzuki, to Krauss and discuss U.S.-Japanese partnership in the Horn of Africa. CLDJ is an operational installation that enables U.S., allied, and partner nation forces to be where and when they are needed to ensure security in Europe, Africa, and Southwest Asia.
