Team members from the U.S. Coast Guard, NOAA, and Water Mapping experts get underway for advanced drone training with the USCG Cutter Blackfin, off the Santa Barbara coast, July 25, 2023. The week-long training using Unmanned Aerial Systems helped prepare several Coast Guard UAS pilots to develop skills and collect test images of oil spills, to have effective response equipment, techniques and technologies to evaluate the impact and the response of actual oil spill incidents.
