GUAYNABO, Puerto Rico, December 5, 2019 - FEMA Acting Administrator Pete Gaynor Engages with Puerto Rican Mayors on Recovery Efforts
During his second day in Puerto Rico, FEMA Acting Administrator Pete Gaynor held a crucial meeting with several mayors from different municipalities. Present at the meeting were Ponce Mayor Mayita Meléndez, Loíza Mayor Julia Nazario, Villalba Mayor Luis Javier Hernández Ortiz, and Bayamón Mayor Ramón Luis Rivera. The primary objective of the meeting was to exchange information and updates regarding the ongoing recovery process in their respective areas.
Gaynor, along with FEMA officials, shared vital insights and progress reports about the reconstruction efforts in the municipalities affected by previous disasters. The meeting provided an opportunity for the mayors to voice their concerns, discuss challenges, and strategize collaborative solutions with FEMA.
Following the meeting, FEMA Acting Administrator Pete Gaynor reiterated the agency's unwavering commitment to supporting Puerto Rico's recovery and reconstruction.
