Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE) Compliance and Quality Department Director Amy Morgan, center, discusses the depot's safety initiatives with Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Safety) Kyle Ketchum and North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality Chief Deputy Secretary Tim Watkins during an Aug. 3 tour of facilities. Recent initiatives include high-visibility yellow floor stripes with black pictograms indicating the personal protective equipment (PPE) required to enter the hangar deck, which have helped streamline safety communications at FRCE. The marking system is part of an ongoing initiative to improve understanding of PPE requirements at FRCE and ensure employees can quickly and easily identify what type of protective equipment is needed to enter industrial areas of the depot.
