Representatives from Fiji, Tonga, Kiribati, Tuvalu, Nauru, Federated States of Micronesia, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Samoa, and the Republic of the Marshall Islands came together in Honolulu to discuss critical topics that affect our oceans and coastal regions July 25, 2023. The symposium covered a range of essential subjects, including Coast Guard missions in the Pacific, countering transnational crime (with a focus on illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing), shiprider agreements, Coast Guard boarding procedures, and maritime domain awareness feeding operations.
