Cris Basilio, a civilian emergency medical technician assigned to Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal (NAVSCOLEOD), tends to a wounded student during a mass casualty drill. The drill simulated a premature detonation of ordnance that resulted in injuries such as multiple burns, wounds from fragments of exploded ordnance, broken bones and missing limbs. NAVSCOLEOD provides high-risk, specialized, basic and advanced EOD training to over 2,100 U.S. and partner nation military and selected U.S. government personnel each year.
