230809-N-EE352-1042 PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug. 9, 2023) Aviation Machinist Mate 3rd Class David Buck, a native of Macon, Georgia, raises a drop tank on an F/A-18E Super Hornet, assigned to the “Stingers” of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 113, in the hangar bay aboard Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). Vinson, Carrier Strike Group 1’s flagship, is underway conducting routine operations in the U.S. 3rd Fleet area of operations.
