Zachary Bautista with the 294th Medical Company Area Support (MCAS), 109th Medical Battalion, Iowa National Guard, practice obtaining vitals inside a Role II Medical Facility, during Northern Strike 2023, on Camp Grayling, Michigan, Aug. 07, 2023. The 294th MCAS is at Northern Strike conducting real world care acting as a Role II Medical Facility while also preparing for evaluations to qualify on mission essential tasks. A Role II Medical Facility is a field hospital that provides more advanced medical support in the field, to include, x-ray, dental support and is large enough to allowing for wards in case additional areas of support are needed. NS 23 is a premier reserve component training event that integrates both U.S. and partner nation readiness training to build interoperability and strengthen partnerships in an all-domain environment.
