A Japan Ground Self-Defense Force paratrooper assigned to the 1st Airborne Brigade jumps out of a U.S. Air Force C-130J Super Hercules assigned to the 36th Airlift Squadron over the JGSDF East Fuji Maneuver Area, Japan, during Airborne 23, Jan. 31, 2023. The ongoing partnership between U.S. and Japan forces continues to demonstrate both countries’ commitment to maintaining stability and security throughout the Indo-Pacific region. The total fleet of nine C-130Js assigned to Yokota Air Base and Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas, transported approximately 300 JGSDF and U.S. Army airborne paratroopers for static-line jumps into the drop zone.
