3D printing aboard the USS New Orleans

U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Cody Jameson, a machinist with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, checks a Markforged 3-D printer while it fabricates a part while aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS New Orleans (LPD-18) in the Coral Sea, Aug. 7, 2023. The parts fabricated by Jameson will help keep the 31st MEU ready. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
