An Amphibious Combat Vehicle maneuvers into protected waters to demonstrate waterborne operation capabilities for an evaluation during the ACV Operators Certification Course at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, July 18, 2023. The Marine Corps' newly established ACV Transition Training Unit implemented two recently designed courses, the OPCERT Course and Maintainers Certification Course, ensuring Marines possess the technical knowledge, skills, and proficiency required to safely operate, maintain, and employ the ACV. The Marine Corps is taking a deliberate approach to fielding the ACV to the Fleet Marine Force to ensure our Marines understand the platform’s capabilities and can operate it safely and proficiently. ACVs are currently authorized to conduct waterborne operations in open and protected waters while surf-zone transit testing is ongoing. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Mhecaela J. Watts)
