Soldiers with 1st Space Brigade, Space Missile Defense Command competing in the U.S. Army Forces Command Best Squad Competition complete the High Step Over obstacle at The Sabalauski Air Assault School Obstacle Course, Aug. 16, 2023, on Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Obstacle courses are used across the Army to demonstrate physical fitness, agility, strength and problem solving skills. The competition tests the squad’s proficiency in their warrior tasks and battle drills and identifies the most cohesive, highly trained, disciplined and fit team that is ready to fight and win – while demonstrating a commitment to the Army Values (leadership, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, personnel courage) and Warrior Ethos.
