U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Juan Villagran, an influence operations specialist with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, briefs the staff noncommissioned officers of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, about the future implementation of Sergeant Peralta Time aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), in the Solomon Sea, Aug. 11, 2023. Sgt. Peralta Time is a new 31st MEU initiative that focuses on noncommissioned officers leading and developing Marines through activities that will strengthen their mental, physical and spiritual resiliency for individual growth. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
